I didn’t have a sign that says “Prostitute Crossing,” so I solicited help from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office in case any more 80-year-old men planned on cruising North Fort Myers north of Walmart.

Jurors acquitted Christopher M. Hiatt of the burglary and rape of Tonda Soisson-Lawson in 2003, yet the state attorney’s office was so certain of his guilt it asked a judge to rule Hiatt violated his probation by committing the crimes.

READERS: There is no better topic to get folks fired up than politics.

Last Wednesday, I took primary non-voters to task, criticizing them for not going to the polls. Only 23 percent voted.
