With the release of two new polls on Friday, it is crystal clear that Mitt Romney has regained control in the Florida Republican presidential primary race.
The Sunshine State News and Quinnipiac polls both show the former Massachusetts governor leading rival Newt Gingrich by 9 points. After a couple of days of favorable polls trending his way, this confirms that the momentum is with Romney: For example, a Quinnipiac poll on Wednesday showed Romney with a scant 2-point lead.Â
Here are the polls:
Sunshine State News: Romney 40 percent, Gingrich 31, Rick Santorum 12, Ron Paul 9.
Quinnipiac: Romney 38, Gingrich 29, Paul 14, Santorum 12.
