Just booking flights now, will be there mid november for two weeks, cant wait….. perhaps a little jaunt off to keys for a few days also..
Heading down to Marco 3rd week in April, Cannot wait. Both Snookinn cameras worked for me also
http://www.snookinn.com/ webcam for the water and stage both worked for me. when i clicked on the webcam, “adobe shockwave” installed, it took a few seconds and that was it. good luck!
Does anyone know why the Snook Inn “River” Web Cam is not working? The stage cam works, but I get a strange error message when I go to the River Cam…
Anyone wanna hook up?
That was a discussion stopper! Back to the real topic, the beach looks fabulous today, particularly to those of us in the cold and snowy north.
Oh, and please clean the camera lens!!!
Go away cheap sunglasses and SPAM somewhere else!!!
you annoying very sunglass lady cheap..not wanted here you…lol
Ahaa, its good conversation on the topic of this piece of writing at this place at this web site, I have read all that, so at this time me also commenting here.
susan, i see you’re correct, ken doesn’t answer. just likes to whine alot about nothing, but when asked why, he’s finally silent!
i have a question for ken. if you dislike marco island so much, why, oh why, do you return??
How could anyone”not like” Marco Island?? I have been all over the state of Florida, there’s no place as beautiful and laid back as Marco Island….
This has been asked in the past and never answered…
This has been asked in the past and never answered….???
He’s back!!! Ken it’s been awhile!
Yes Ken, we have alot of reasons to excuse it away! We don’t let that temporary cold snap ruin our paradise..such a beautiful sunny day!
So much for “paradise”, 32 last night and 57 today. I know some will excuse it away.
Ken its all relative to where you are. I would take 57 right now since it’s about 30 without the wind chill here.
Dont worry Ken.. It will be in the upper 70s and sunny again. Beats anything we have going on in the midwest right now…lol
we were there a week ago. water was a little chilly at first, but lots of people were swimming. it’s a little murky this time of year, the water is clearest around may. re: red tide — we only saw 1 dead fish, far down on tigertail, and no one in our group was bothered by “red tide”, if it’s still there. weather was beautiful, the island was busy but not too much, and both bridges look awesome. whoever is heading that way, have a wonderful trip!
The Gulf is absolutely beautiful, it’s got yo be in the low to mid 70’s and the COLOR AHHHHH!!!
Swim every day 20, 30, 40 min.
It;s PARADISE !!!!
what is gulf water temperature?
We will be there on Dec. 26. Hopefully, the red menace (red tide) is gone!
Is the red tide still there?
Looks like a great day to be at the beach. It’s cold here in Illinois!
What is red tide?
Red tide is a common term for harmful algal bloom which is the result of unusual (or out of control) alga growth, usually starting well offshore, and then moving toward the beaches. It becomes “red tide” when it produces poisons that can kill fish or even mammals and birds–and may cause illness or affect allergies in people. In my limited experience with red tide along the Florida Gulf coast, the worst effect was dead fish that washed up on the beach and created a terrible odor and mess.
Hope this helps!
Rayalene explained it perfectly. Although people should also be careful. While we were sitting on the beach that day, we were constantly coughing as were lots of other people who were both sitting on the beach and walking along the shoreline.
Marco is perfect…Snook inn is the place to be?
Phil – we just left yesterday and there were more people over Thanksgiving than in past years, but not crazy with “in season” people yet. Unfortunately red tide hit Marco on Tuesday
Have alot of “in season” folks arrived?
Can’t wait till we arrive on Saturday….10 days at our home away from home!!!
Currently in Vienna Austria, but would rather be in Marco Island any day. Would be great if more of these Webcam could be installed. What happened to the one at Snook Inn?
Is the new bridge open?
Yes! We crossed it Saturday on our way to paradise!
We can not wait we will be there in about a month, can’t wait to just relax and for my soon to be 2 year old to see the ocean for her first time. My husband and I love your Marco Island.
Thanks,
Angie
Leaving this Thurs for our favorite place in the world! Many years of memories with our children and Grandchildren. Can’t wait!
Hey – save some sunshine for us. Less than 3 weeks and counting till we are back to our home away from home
We’re HERE! And the rain stopped before we crossed the Jolley Bridge!! Bring on the sunshine, dolphins and sand. Look for us on the beach cam.
Angie, it is usually warm the first part of Dec. but u never know how warm that time of year. We stay in the 70’s and low 80’s unless a cold front blows thru. Keep a check with NOAA:
