Looks like a beautiful morning on marco island. Soon my hubby and I will be walking along that gorgeous beach. 4th of july can’t come soon enough! Could there be anyplace more wonderful?

Hi Jennifer, Sand Dollar Spit is a long stretch of beach on the northern end of the island across from Tigertail public beach and lagoon. Hope you have a great Mother’s Day!

phillipa — the island is still as beautiful as ever! but there are a few new restaurants and a lowes store. the biggest change would be there are now two bridges, one for coming onto the island and one for going off, with a large flag at the base. it looks lovely!

we’ll be returning to our condo on marco in just 8 weeks. haven’t been there in a few months and miss it so. to Wilson — when you say “it’s not like it used to be”, are you speaking of the island? if so, in what way do you think it’s different? we have been going to marco for 12 years or so, and it still seems like paradise. i wish you well!

Just sold our condo. Have been going to and living in Marco for over 40 years. Will probably never return. It’s not like it used to be. So sad!!!!

I love that the camera is pointing towards Sand Dollar Spit. I look at it everyday and imagine all the wonderful shells washing up against the shore and think of Mary the “Turtle Lady” doing her routine turtle tasks! My husband and I have been vacationing in Marco for 25 years. Can’t wait to return this July!

Not sure I understand the recent postings on this site. It was fun when limited to comments about the beach, Marco Island and the joy of seeing our beloved view during the cold winters up north!!
