Playoff Week 2 – Lehigh going to host

Due to the bracket and that both South Fort Myers and Lehigh were district runner-ups, the surprising Lighting will play host to the Wolfpack next Friday night. It should be an interesting matchup. Lehigh knows who they are – run the ball, play solid special teams and defense. Consider, Lehigh did not complete any of its three passes Friday against Riverdale and won. Gee, that sounds like a team I’ve seen before. Think Naples 2007. I wonder where Pete Fominaya learned that formula.

South, on the otherhand, has a dynamic offense with QB Dallas Crawford and WR Samy Watkins leading the way. I would think Lehigh will have to score more than 15 points to beat South (10-1).

In another intriguing matchup, Cape Coral (11-0) will play host to Charlotte (10-1). The Tarpons wrecked the Seahawks in their spring game in Cape Coral, but that was a long time ago.

Finally, ECS will have a rematch in the 1B-3 Region final against Out-of-Door Academy in Sarasota. The Sentinels (9-2) lost to ODA 39-28 on Oct. 9 in Sarasota.
