Colton Lynch set an unoffical Lee County record for total offense in a single season, but it wasn’t enough as Fort Lauderdale Calvary Christian defeated Evangelical Christian 49-46 on Senior Night Friday.
Lynch broke former Cypress Lake quarterback Christian Parsons’ record of 2,794 yards (2,593 passing, 201 rushing) set in 2007 on a 78-yard run with 5:45 left in the game. Lynch has 1,351 yards rushing and 1,527 yards passing for a total of 2,878.
No official record for Lee County total offense has been kept, but Parsons’ total was the highest The News-Press research could find. Gulf Coast’s Jeff Schmidt put up a total of 2,914 yards (2,522 passing, 392 rushing, 1 receiving) last season, which is a number Lynch should pass next week during ECS’ playoff game at Lakeland Victory Christian.

Ahhh Joker … I remember not so long ago, Appalachian State defeating Mighty Michigan and a “Lynch” blocked the winning FG attempt. D2 vs D1 … Surprising Result ???
Players end up at different colleges for all sorts of reasons. To me what level or division a player plays at is irrelevant, it’s their God given ability that matters. Ben Roethlisberger (Miami, OH) … Marques Colston (Hofstra) … Austin Miles (Monmouth) … Joe Flacco (Delaware)… Antonio Gates (Kent St.) … Kurt Warner (Northern Iowa) … may have never been considered if “we” used the same philosophy.
Not sure about the Watkins total yardage question. Of course you have your opinion and I have mine.
Yes, ECS wins again! For the haters above, nothing much left to say.
Nothing except: You will be done this !
WEEK!!!!!!
By the way, learn to play some defense for crying out loud!!!!!
